Weekend Sans Children

Last weekend, my mom and I drove my grandma back to Portland.

With NO CHILDREN.

I left all three of them at home. For two nights.

It was pure bliss. I packed one bag, with only my things, drove 10 entire hours scream-free, ate adult food with no thought to chicken strips/nuggets/bites, and shopped (although mainly for them). For being the first time I've ever been away from them for more than a few hours, it went really well. Carl's parents were able to come help him out for the weekend, the kids did great, and I was so happy to come home to them after my little break. It was wonderful! We were even able to have some really great lobster for dinner on Saturday night with my grandma and aunt, which was so much fun!

It was a little exhausting to drive so much in three days, but it was worth it. We did nothing but drive, shop, eat and drink yummy Dutch Brothers coffee, and I loved it.

what the heck did kids ever eat before chicken nuggets were invented?

I'm glad you had a good drive.

How are you feeling with respect to your anxiety and adjusting to your new medication?
