things, etc. I decided to go ahead and
pick up a few seeds to start. I'm not
really quite sure what to do with
them, but I'm going to read all the instructions that came with the packets, as well as maybe google some stuff to see what I can come up with. The lady that helped me at Lowe's said that I should just buy these little plastic pots that are all connected together, and all I had to do was add water and the seeds. So, that's what I did. I have one big one for flowers and a few herbs, and the a smaller one for some tomatoes. She made it all sound so easy; a little too easy, really. I have never really had a green thumb, or any green appendages for that matter, so I'm not sure what the outcome of this venture will be. You may even remember my tulip incident from a few months ago, and be wondering what the heck I'm thinking. I'm not actually certain myself what I was thinking. But, now I have all the supplies, I may as well give it a try. I'll update you with pictures, and hopefully something grows so that I'm not just showing picture after picture of pots of dirt.
On a sad note, our dog chewed my iPod charging cord, and I sadly cannot listen to music while I plant. I'm also not very happy with the dog; he's outside until my husband comes home. With a new iPod cord.
But I do have a happier note to end on. I found a FREE lawn mower today! I check our local Freecycle group daily, and usually I'm too late to get anything good. But someone south of Polson has a couple lawn mowers they're giving away, and no one has claimed them yet! Yay! We don't have one, since we've never had a yard of our own, and will need one once we put some sod down (or plant grass, we haven't made that decision yet). I am actually not sure if either one of them work, but we're going to give it a try. I'm so excited for spring!

It is easy. At least what you are doing is easy. The hard part about gardening is preparing the soil and you bought yours pre-made :)
Well, we'll hope so. I seem to turn even the easy aspects of gardening into a nightmare!
Do bulbs go directly into the ground? Or do they go into the little cups too? I am sure this is a stupid question to ask, but I really don't know and don't want to ruin them!
I would just put bulbs directly into the ground. In a couple of years you will be able to dig them up and divide them.

seriously, you'll be fine. give them light and water and they'll grow. definitely put the bulbs in the ground . . . what kind are they? they may not do much this year, but next year they'll be beautiful.

I just bought the exact same "greenhouse" last week and picked out all of the pretty seeds...had absolutely no idea what I was doing, but I read the backs of the seed packets, and to my surprise the seeds have already sprouted! Some of them are already dying though, I think it's because they need a lot of sun and we haven't had any for a week! Not much you can do about that...
Have fun planting! If my plants don't grow it will just give me an excuse to go to the farmer's market. :) Hope to catch up with you soon.
