Current thoughts

I just realized I titled yesterday's post "March Pictures". Hmmm. Since it is now April, and has been for over two weeks, I'm not sure about that one. Oh well. That's my life in a nutshell.

Cece's birthday is Saturday, she'll be one! I can't believe it's been a year already. It seems like just yesterday we were anxiously waiting for her to arrive. I remember how scared I was this time last year. Caden and Avery were only 15 months old, but were more like 12 months (if that) and I was so afraid of not being able to handle all of them. I didn't think it was possible to adequately love three kids. A friend of mine had told me she felt the same way with each child after the first, that she didn't think her love would stretch to the new one. That there wasn't enough to share three ways. She explained to me that instead of sharing a certain amount of love, God seemed to give her a whole new portion of love for each child when it was born. I thought that was so neat, but didn't really feel like that would happen to me. Then when Cece was born, that's exactly what happened. It's weird to look at three children, each so different, each so special and dear to your heart, and love each of them with the same intensity. I can't imagine life without any one of them. They have each made my life richer than I ever could have dreamed.

Because of Cece's upcoming birthday, Carl's parents, grandparents, and maternal grandmother will be coming to stay for the weekend. My parents will drive down for the day on Saturday, since they only live 45 minutes or so away. I think we'll make pizza and cupcakes like we did for the twins' birthday. All three kids love homemade pizza, and it's so easy to accomodate a large group of people that that is what we usually end up doing. It'll be a full house, but we're looking forward to it! I love having meals to plan when we have company coming, so the next few days will be fun. Well, busy, but still really fun!

On a completely separate note, I'm reading The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende, per Becky's recommendation, and am LOVING it! Such a good book! I'm almost done with it, and have a copy of Eva Luna to start next. I love discovering new authors. I feel like I fly through all the books of the ones I love so quickly, I'm always searching for someone new. So when I've just started reading a book by someone who already has lots of different books published, I can't wait to start reading everything they've written.

I'm off to shower, and then head to town. I am going into the college to talk some more with an advisor. I'm trying to pin down what classes I need so that I can possibly get started this summer. Can't wait!
